- well, it looks like i’m relatively screwed when it comes to broadband via adsl2+ now, the official telco (cough*telstra*cough) has somehow now deemed my phone line inadequate to run an adsl connection. kind of annoying when i have actually had 24mbit adsl2+ on this line for almost 2 years, up until just over a month ago when we allowed the home phone line connection to lapse. apparently the second this lapse happened (we owed $2.00 on our home phone account, and hadn’t paid it because, well - it’s $2.00!), said telco ran out to our exchange, disconnected our line from whatever contraption they had setup allowing adsl2+ on a line on a RIM, moved the line over to some crusty 1940’s connection, that apparently allows a massively fast dialup connection of 26.4kbps, and no faster. so not only can i no longer use the internet for anything useful, i am doomed to endure web pages that take 5+ minutes to complete loading, and emails with attachments that literally take entire days to grab from the mail server. the joy.
