About Us
Hi! This site has been set up by Liz Mallen. I began in IT over 20 years ago using Cobol/MVS and early 4GL's like Focus. After 16 years being Mum to 3 boys, in 2005 I began retraining in database and web design. This site was initially a project to integrate learning Macromedia Flash with encouraging my son Hugh to practice his year 11 French.
Flashlote started as a stand-alone version suitable for Win98. It evolved through a .Net Framework database driven version (written in C# and mothballed due to security constraints on the browse button feature) to the current PHP/MySQL site.
