From humble beginnings in October 2000 as a weekly newsletter about a few music events that founders Sascha Lewis and Mark Mangan sent to a few hundred friends in New York City, the company now publishes a series of nine email magazines, reaching more than 300,000 subscribers: Flavorpills in New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, and London, as well as Artkrush, Boldtype, Earplug, and JC Report.
On any given day, an army of more than 300 discerning Flavorpill writers and editors investigate hundreds of events, wade through endless stacks of CDs, click through gigabytes of webpages and MP3s, peruse piles of books and magazines, and trade emails with a constant stream of connected people around the globe to distill the crucial cultural information you need to know.
