About Flookie Blog Search
The Name: It’s getting harder and harder to find a short, catchy and easy to remember URL that is not already in use these days. I decided to pull a Ray Bradbury and surround myself with stuff that I could draw some creative vibes from. So I walked into my 2.5 year old daughters room and had a look around. All of her stuff was on the floor. In the middle of all the stuff was a plastic Oreo cookie. Somehow I merged floor with cookie and blamo… Flookie. It has 2 o’s like google does, and even though it has 1 letter more than google, it is kinda catchy-stupid like google is.
The Mission: As a member of the Blogging community, I wanted to create something that would contribute to it’s foundation. Whether or not the Flookie Directory will actually do this remains to be seen- But my desire is to see it grow nonetheless.
Every submission goes through my personal approval process before being accepted. I check each Blog for quality of content, uniqueness and originality, and relevance within it’s category. I also filter out content which some may find objectionable or unsavory. Flookie does not utilize scripts that AUTOMATE the search process by retrieving listings from other sources- Each listing is “hand picked”, as it were.
