Weddings are a time of open joy and boundless love. A couple stands in front of their future welcoming a life together filled with everything they have ever dreamed.
My favorite part of the creative process is the beginning and the end. Talking with the bride and groom, sketching ideas, listening to their hopes for the day inspires me as I create their love story in flowers. The wedding day finally arrives. I hand the bride her bouquet and smile as she breathes in the fragrance of the delicate blooms we chose with such care. I watch as the bride’s mother sees her daughter ready for marriage, perfectly dressed with bouquet in hand. I glimpse the groom’s anticipation and happiness as I pin on his boutonniere. These moments are my ultimate reward.
Shannon Cosgrove-Rivas, owner and head designer of Flourish, has been designing in flowers for 17 years. She has been featured on KOVR Channel 13 News and KCRA Channel 3 News speaking about flowers and floral design. Shannon’s floral designs have also been featured in The Sacramento Bee, Sacramento Magazine, The News and Review, Flowers &, and Florist Review.
