- A few years ago, while flipping through a copy of Architectural Digest , we noticed a glazed flowerpot with hand-carved decorations in the background of a photo. As we were immediately impressed with its crisp form and elegant beauty, we ripped the photo from the magazine and tacked it to the door of the refrigerator under a magnet from a Chinese carry-out place. We began to search our local garden centers for pots with a similar look. We found lots of flower pots, but nothing like the pot in the photo. We checked hardware stores, national retailers, and nurseries, and kept coming up dry. We learned a lot about flower pots in the process (probably more than anyone ever needs to know), and took our search online. After months of hunting, we were still empty-handed, and the photo still hung on our refrigerator
