- The author, Floyd M. Grooms, was born in Nebraska, lived in Iowa, was raised in Missouri and became a naturalized Texan when he married his wife Lucille who was a born Texan. They have been married for over 64 years. He entered the United States Military in 1940 and served for over 23 years. His last 15 years of service were served in the Counterintelligence field as a Special Agent of the Office of Special Investigations. He served overseas on both sides of the USA as well as the South Pacific during WWII with the 9th Fighter Squadron, 49th Fighter Group, 5th Air Force as a Crew Chief of a P-38 Lightning. He retired in 1964 in Washington, D.C. and bid farewell to active military life and started a new life style in Real Estate. He and his wife Lucille opened their own real estate office and subsequently moved to Phoenix, AZ where they lived until just recently when they moved to Naples, FL. Grooms is an avid gambler and as he was getting up in years he decided to pass on the information he had learned over the many years of gambling. He wrote the book "Betting Between Sevens" that was founded on over 67 years of gambling experience. That book was a book on Craps and he now has completed his 2nd book "Roulette at its Best" which he hopes will also help gamblers leave the casinos as a winner.
