Food By Design, Inc. is a food developer, manufacturer and marketer of great tasting healthful food products which are based on FLAX in combination with other highly nutritious ingredients such as SOY, OATS and BUCKWHEAT.
The company was founded in San Francisco in 1999 around the simple idea that food can taste great, be convenient and affordable while still being good for you. Our current extremely nutritious products are Healthy Scoop, a granola-like product based on FLAX, SOY and OATS; Healthy Break, a nutritional bar product based on the same ingredients; FLAX JACKS, a pancake and waffle mix based on FLAX and BUCKWHEAT; and FLAX MACS, a macaroon-like cookie based on FLAX and antioxidant rich dark chocolate.
Nutritional knowledge and its relationship to health has expanded greatly over the last hundred years. Initial discoveries centered on identifying the approximately 50 nutrients that are essential in the human diet and at what minimum levels their deficiencies result in adverse health effects.
