Food Safety Risk Analysis Clearinghouse

Who we are…
The Food Safety Risk Analysis Clearinghouse is the responsibility of the Joint Institute for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition (JIFSAN), a collaboration between the University of Maryland (UM) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). A steering committee, comprised of five members from the JIFSAN and the FDA, oversees the development and operation of the Clearinghouse.
Clearinghouse staff
Updates to the site are managed by staff members working closely with the office of JIFSAN. Staff members comprise of graduate, undergraduate and post-graduate students from the University of Maryland.
Our mission, as described in The May 1997 Report to the President on the National Food Safety Initiative, is to establish a clearinghouse that would collect and catalogue available data and methodology on food safety risk analysis offered by the private sector, trade associations, federal and state agencies, and international sources.
