This system is privately owned and operated and designed to provide some information, service, entertainment, and internet accessibility to those who choose to look to us for such.
It started as a brain burp while fishing on the Fox River near Elgin, Illinois one hot summer evening while waiting for the catfish to bite. My 'brother/best friend' Dan, bka Fox River Dan (a preference for anonymity; a small wonder for which most folks should be thankful!). Dan said that we should share our experiences with people near and far, and promote the resources of the Fox River Valley as well as our own personal ventures and perhaps that of others who may ask us to assist in such.
He offered to provide some equipment and information if I was interested in being the technical and administrative aspect for presentation. It all sounded good at the time and I still think it is a wonderful idea, but his financial, hardware, and assistance provisions leave much to be desired. Today, there is still a lot of work to be done, and trust me, Dan's not the one doing it. He is seldom if ever around when needed and thusly not underfoot or overbearing, is very full of life, and ...information.
