Freedom Bay is a brand new luxury holiday resort in the Piton Mountains in St Lucia. It is currently under construction and is due to be completed in 2015. The five-star hotel will feature 45 unique villas - each with their own private balcony and pool.
Each of the villas is detached from the hotel itself. Guests will have a choice of one-bed, two-bed or super-sized luxury villas that house up to six guests. The villas will be based either on the beach or within the foot of the Piton cliffs. There are a number of bespoke treehouse apartments available to book as well. Each villa is embedded into its natural environment in an eco-friendly way that attempts to blur the boundaries between indoors and outdoors. A hotel concierge service comes as standard.
Checking In
For each new guest, Freedom Bay will send a member of staff to the airport to whisk them and their luggage to the hotel in style. Guests can choose to travel by chauffeur-driven car or across the Caribbean Sea by power yacht. After check-in, they'll be escorted to their villa by power buggy.
Accommodation
Each of the remote villas has been uniquely designed to make an individual statement, giving guests more privacy than they would be used to at a traditional hotel. Every room offers panoramic views of the Caribbean Sea and the Piton Mountains, as well as easy access to the coastline. The exterior decking provides a private pool, dining area, outdoor showers and chillout zones.
Location
The resort sits in the middle of a UNESCO World Heritage Site on the South West of St Lucia, which is certainly part of what makes it such a unique experience. Amongst the dramatic Piton mountains, the coastline features miles of untouched foliage, glorious corals and nature reserves. It's a nature-lover's paradise.
Activities
The hotel itself offers plenty for guests to see and do. There are three restaurants offering the finest delicacies, a wine cellar and cocktail lounge. Those looking to unwind can visit the Freedom Bay Spa, which features a full range of holistic treatments, fitness services, saunas and steam rooms.
Guests on the lookout for something a bit different might want to take a trip to the observatory or the outdoor cinema. For something to get their heart pumping, there's the option to book a water sports lesson, mountain biking or horse riding sessions.
