Description

There is actually a long history behind the FMU comic. It begins about twenty years ago in the basement of my parents house. The basement is where my future husband, Michael, my brother George and myself would conduct our weekly Dungeons and Dragons© role-playing games. Yes, there was actually a female way back in the day who played D&D and I'm living proof of such. And like any true fanatic of the game, I felt compelled to create visual composites of the characters I ran. Vadien, my vampire assassin, Ven, a mutant bard and last but not least, Athera who was my barbarian...

And as time progressed, I created a history for my favorite characters (slowly but surely I'm becoming more and more obsessed with it :P), a history that eventually evolved into a written story, which I had entitled "the Red Knight". After a few years and the abandonment of my role-playing days, I decided I would make a comic out of my precious story. Of course, I had not a clue as to how to go about making one. So the comic layouts were set upon a desk shelf and promptly forgotten. A couple of years later, I met the Queen Of Swords. A very, very clever and funny writer who gave me my first stab at an online comic by the name of "Magical Boys". Doing this comic helped me to become confident enough in my skills, to try and make something out of my own ideas, namely "the Red Knight".

One day, as I'm feverishly penciling out the pages for my new online comic... I get bored with it. Actually, disgusted is a better term. Next thing you know, I'm sketching out this mini-comic that literally makes fun of the comic I was just drawing. I liked the skit and decided I'd post over in my Elfwood gallery for all (if anyone) to see. Soon, this became a habit. Whenever I'd loose interest or get frustrated with whatever project I was working on, I'd whip up another little skit for what I had now entitled "Frightmoore University" and post it in my gallery.
