Front Line Report: Your Portal To US Military and War On Terror News

Description

Excerpted from the website:

About This Site Front Line Report is our contribution to expand the knowledge of interested individuals by searching the Internet and providing one place where you can come to find information about US military action, balancing it with the broader perspective of the good that is being done by the US military men and women in areas of combat. We are not a business or even a large group, to the contrary, Front Line Report is largely the work of one individual, Steve Montgomery, who simply has an interest of widening the perspective of others as it pertains to US military action. While war is a terrible thing, it is often necessary to wage war to protect a broader peace. Search the writings and conversation of military personnel and you will be hard pressed to find one who longs for the battlefield. To the contrary, since they have been there, most if not all find it a dreadful place to be. Since all men and women are multifaceted, they take those characteristics into the battlefield and through publishing their galleries and letters we hope to make our visitors more aware and thorough in their thoughts and opinions. Regarding the casualty list you will find here, we make every effort to include all US military men and women who have lost their lives in defense of their country while serving in Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom. It is not our intent to snub the efforts of the other 30+ nations making up the "Coalition of the Willing, " rather we desire to concentrate on those of the US military. If we have missed any of these heroes, please contact us with the appropriate information and they will be included in the database. All news operations and websites must get information about battlefield casualties from one source, the Department of Defense. No individual or business as special access to this information. If there are any errors in the information contained herein, it is most likely due to inaccuracies from the DOD. If you have special information regarding a particular listing, please contact us and we will make every effort to make corrections. Fallen Heroes Memorial is an independent site dedicated to memorializing the fallen of Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom. Tim Rivera works hard to maintain his site, an after work labor of love begun when his brother was deployed to Iraq. We felt it unnecessary to duplicate his efforts in some areas. Therefore we decided to act as a portal to the individual pages for each lost service man and woman to give our visitors an opportunity to express their condolences and memories. Sometimes Fallen Heroes Memorial will get behind in their work and we cannot link to new entries. Please be patient, as Tim updates his site, we will link to the memorial pages. Thank you for taking time to visit us. If we have been helpful tell your friends about us. Contacting Family Members of The Fallen The U.S. Department of Defense has issued the following regarding how to contact the families: "We appreciate your concern but we are unable to release mailing addresses of the military families due to the Privacy Act of 1974. I suggest you write a letter and place it in a stamped unsealed envelope, then write a cover letter to the casualty office explaining your purpose for writing. Place all correspondence in a stamped sealed envelope, and mail to the appropriate casualty office. The casualty office, in turn, will forward your letter to the family."
