The first novel, 'Treachery In Turtle Bay', was inspired by his years at the United Nations and two events in particular:
1. During his consulting tenure, the much-publicized Oil for Food scandal erupted and despite the fact that $29.7 billion dollars went to people and places that could only be speculated on, the scandal died down. The primary tool used by the UN spin-doctors during this period was distraction. Get a lot of press from exposure of minor corruption but don't talk about the mother lode of missing funds.
2. One morning in 2005, the gory suicide described in chapter one actually happened and he was the real life embodiment of the character Hugh Masterson. Over the months since that occurred he kept thinking of what a great mystery could be written surrounding that event and weaving it into the saga of the missing 29.7 billion bucks and the policy of diversion.
Why Turtle Bay?
Turtle Bay is a neighborhood in New York City, on the east side of Midtown Manhattan. It extends between 42nd and 53rd Streets and eastward from Lexington Avenue to the East River, across from Roosevelt Island. It was named after an actual bay that was filled in and is now the site of the United Nations Headquarters.
The first book was originally published in July 2009 and a revised edition published by Sprig Media Group July 2010.
This achievement led to the development of an outline for a mystery series based on actual events taking place in the world of diplomacy, large money and technology and spiked with greed, corruption and murder. Common to all the sagas is the sleuthing couple solving the mysteries and netting out a unique form of justice are Anna and Hugh Masterson
The concept slowly took shape and the overview of the progressing plot for the first three-book collection evolved:
Treachery In Turtle Bay II - Oil ~ Dollars ~ Diplomacy & The Sinister Three and deals with the Oil industry, Iraq and the theft of $1 Billion/month in Iraqi Oil cash flow, which exceeds $6 billion/Month. This work was released by Sprig Media Group in July 2010
Treachery In Turtle Bay III - Nukes ~ Dollars ~ Diplomacy & The Sinister One, involves the control of the US Presidency, Russian Nukes and Iran, Afghanistan and Heroin. This, the third book in the collection, is scheduled for release by Sprig Media Group in the spring of 2011.
