Excerpted from the website:
- Haris Gacanin is currently working toward his Ph.D. degree at Graduate School of Engineering, Tohoku University, Sendai, Japan. He received his M. E, and B. E, degrees in Electrical engineering from the Graduate School of Electrical Engineering, Tohoku University, Japan, in 2005, and Faculty of Electrical Engineering, University of Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, in 2000, respectively. His research interests lie in the field of wireless broadband communication systems; single carrier (SC) and orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM), channel estimation, iterative receiver structures, peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) reduction, channel coding, ARQ, space-time transmit diversity (STTD) techniques. Haris is a recipient of the IEICE Communications Society Young Researcher Award (Aug. 2005), 2005 Active Research Award in Radio Communications and the VTC 2005-Fall Student paper Award from the IEEE Japan chapter of the IEEE Vehicular Technology Society (VTS) (Oct. 2005). Haris is reviewer for IEEE Transactions on Communications, IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications and a number of IEEE conferences.
