Title
GAMH Homepage - Glasgow Association for Mental Health - G.A.M.H., Charity, Voluntary Sector
Description
With the implementation of the Care in the Community legislation in 1990, and again with the advent of the psychiatric hospital closure programme, GAMH rapidly expanded the range and volume of services provided.
The evolution of community care has presented opportunities for the organisation to respond to the needs of the people we work with by developing intensive support at home, services for people from minority ethnic communities, housing related services, specialist provision for homeless people with mental health problems, active (assertive) outreach, clubhouses, mental health advocacy support and services to carers including young carers.
The organisation has a focus on working with people who experience mental health difficulties and their carers who live in the Greater Glasgow area.
