The Gay Christian Network is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization providing resources and support to Christians who happen to be gay, lesbian, bisexual, or trangendered. We also work with churches and other Christian organizations to help educate the Christian community about sexual orientation issues from a Biblical standpoint.
GCN had its beginnings in August, 2001, as a website called GayChristian.Net. Founder Justin Lee wanted to build a supportive community to support fellow gay Christians in their Christian walks. GCN teaches that Christ should come first in all things, and that our sexuality is secondary. We do not believe, however, that being gay disqualifies someone in any way from serving the Lord.
Through our website, we offer Bible study resources, prayer support, online sermons, a weekly internet radio show, and a supportive community of GLBT Christians from across the theological spectrum. We also maintain a list of gay-welcoming churches at WelcomingChurches.com, and our annual conference each January provides opportunities for worship, study, and fellowship.
