Gemani Games and Puzzles was started in 1991 by Roger Mustoe. Since then Gemani’s main outlets have been the Craft Shows that we attend all over the United Kingdom although the proportion of sales made over the internet is increasing rapidly.
The original range that were offered for sale were made from Beech but customer demand led to a switch being made to using a non-endangered tropical hardwood called Samanea, more commonly known as Raintree. Cut and polished, this has an attractive appearance not dissimilar to teak. As far as we know we are the only company importing unfinished lumber of this type into the UK. All timber products sold by us are made from non-endangered timber.
We’re all personally interested about what we do and make here at Gemani and particularly passionate about puzzles. The desire to ‘tinker’ with things, to see how they work or how they’re made is surprisingly common and a quality that we believe should be encouraged in people of all ages and of both sexes. In many ways puzzles are a reflection of life itself, often easy enough to dissemble but much more challenging to hold together or rebuild. Above all we want to help people to have constructive fun.
