G.E. Masana’s passion as a photographer brings a blend of fine art to editorial-documentary imagery, and in the process he has created a new iconography.
His beautiful and often emotional images are a continuum to early photographic history, through his use of painterly nuances to create artistic scenes from real life and in his keen ability in documenting the definitive moment, in the tradition of past great photographers such as Steichen and Cartier-Bresson.
A native New Yorker, he attended art school studying painting and illustration. While freelancing as an illustrator in 1981, he traded in his brush for a camera, beginning his professional photography career.
