This hands-on workshop covers the basics of oil gilding. Participants prepare and work on a brass statue or tsatsa (of their own choosing if appropriate or I can supply), and go through all the stages of oil gilding including: preparation and priming of the surface, application of the oil size, laying various types of metal-leaf including yellow and white gold-leaf. The workshop focuses on the surface preparation and time variables of both slow and quick oil sizes.
