Welcome!
Today's Girl Scout is doing more than selling cookies and making crafts. She's attending debates at the State House, producing a traveling music concert for nursing homes, or designing an earthquake-proof home. Today's Girl Scout is learning from mentors in the fields of computers, engineering, law, government, television and radio. She's an entrepreneur, a leader, a self-motivator and a team player. She's not just leading her troop in cookie sales; she's leading her troop in a September 11th tribute or teaching her parents the true meaning of diversity. Girl Scouts guides girls at a turning point in their lives with programs that promote science and technology, health and fitness, self-esteem, civic responsibility and community involvement.
Who We Are
Girl Scouts, Patriots' Trail Council is one of the largest organizations in greater Boston dedicated to girls and is a leader in innovative girl programming and collaboration. Patriots' Trail Council serves 26,000 girls, ages 5-18, from 65 communities in and surrounding Boston (map, PDF). Our community of nearly 11,000 adult members, representing all segments of society, includes volunteers, parents, caregivers, staff, alumnae, students, and professionals. We collaborate with over 100 organizations and receive funding from Girl Scout families, individuals, corporations, community businesses and government sources. Thousands of service projects are conducted annually by over 2,200 Girl Scout troops and individual girl members.
Programs
Girls and the issues they face evolve and change and the Girl Scout Movement evolves with them. We offer a variety of programs and opportunities that engage and challenge girls of every age. We help girls discover the entrepreneur, the doctor, the engineer, the mother, and the friend they have inside. With more than 100 unique programs and activities, Patriots' Trail encourages girls to sample everything from soccer and theater to engineering and television broadcasting! Here are just a few of our Girl Scout adventures.
