Girl Scouts of Sierra Cascade

Our local hi s tory is rich with dedicated volunteers that moved the organization to what it is today… strong and still relevant.
In 1952 S hasta Area Girl Scout Council (Shasta and T rinity counties) became incorporated. It served 590 girls and 287 adults on operating expenses of $5163. In 1955, Superior Area Girl Scout Council formed to serve Butte, Glenn and Tehama Counties. Cookies sold for 50¢ per box. In 1958, Shasta Area Girl Scouts and Superior Girl Scouts merged to form Sierra Cascade Girl Scout Council.
Although our program activities have changed to stay co ntemporary, our mission has stayed timeless. Girl Scouting builds girls of confidence, courage, and character, who make the world a better place.
