- The German-Jordanian University has been founded in 2005 by a Royal Decree, in accordance with a Memorandum of Understanding reached between the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and the Federal Ministry of Education and Research of the Federal Republic of Germany. The University is the 10th public university in Jordan and will follow the model of the German Fachhochschulen, Universities of Applied Sciences. These Universities are mainly characterized by their philosophy of strict relation to practice and their application oriented approach to knowledge transfer.
