Rather than write about ourselves, here is what our editor said on the fly leaf of our latest book, "The Complete Guide to Glass Painting"
Alan Gear and Barry Freestone have been painting for over 20 years and are recognised as leading experts in their field. Their successful company, Rainbow Glass, sells both finished pieces and their own unique range of paints. They also run popular courses in all aspects of glass painting and have produced a series of teaching DVD's and Videos.
Alan came to the craft by something of a circuitous route, having first trained as an actor. He has worked extensively in television, film and theatre and first began painting glass in his dressing room between rehearsals. This hobby quickly developed into an obsession. In 1990 his partner, Barry, brought his own style of artistry to the company and together they have devised many of the new and exciting techniques that are contained within their book.
