Originally from Minnesota, Glenn Herbert Davis is an interdisciplinary artist, performer and educator recently transplanted to Tulsa, Oklahoma. His creative issues are diverse and multifarious in their expression but at root lie essentially in the encompassing dynamic between the individual human body and contrived systems; specifically: labor, the institution, utility, valuation, constructivism, and (the) 'other'. Davis is an Assistant Professor of Art at the University of Tulsa, and taught previously at Ohio University and Iowa State University. He was the recipient of a Oklahoma Visual Arts Fellowship in 2006, a Jerome Foundation Artist Grant in 1998, and a Jerome Installation Art Commission in 1996. He works and resides in a former post office in West Tulsa with three cantankerous cattle dogs.
