Bridget Meyer has her degree in Development Studies from UC Berkeley. The study of political and economic development of third world countries opened her eyes to the inequalities throughout the world. She had the opportunity to travel to 25 different countries through stipends, scholarships and research grants. She researched Dusky Dolphins in New Zealand, conducted independent research on Social Capital in Cuba and Mupuche Indians in Chile. Her senior year, she traveled to Guatemala to research Fair Trade Coffee and was asked by families in Guatemala to implement a program that would offer medicine to the community to stop child mortality. Upon graduating, Bridget created the Global Healthcare Project (GHP). Bridget is currently working full time as the Executive Director of GHP, developing new programs for Guatemala and researching other countries that can benefit from GHP programs.
