edit 301 redirect
A 301 redirect is used to permanently re-route requests for one website to another website. It is also called a permanent redirect.
You can use a 301 redirect to avoid:
- Delivering 404 errors to visitors
- Creating canonical URL issues like twin home pages
- Driving away people who don't type www
Most people will need to contact their website hosting company or registrar to create a 301 redirect.
