Description
Gene and Sharon are both native Floridians, born in Tampa. They met when they were teenagers. You could say they were childhood sweethearts. They were married in 1966, raised two daughters, Shannon and Cherise, and have been blessed with five grandsons, two granddaughters and two great sons-in-law.
Gene had a 37-year career with Tampa Electric Company, retiring in 2000. Sharon worked at the U. S. Post Office as a Rural Mail Carrier for 11 years. They are both active in the First Baptist Church of Highlands, NC, where they sing in the choir and enjoy a wonderful fellowship.
The Wests started coming to the beautiful Highlands/Cashiers area in the early 1980's and fell in love with the area. In 1994, they built their first mountain home in the Shoal Creek area of Lake Glenville. They have also built homes in Ravenel Lake and Cullasaja Club. Building these homes introduced them to North Carolina real estate, which prompted both of them to obtain Real Estate Broker's licenses. They began their real estate careers with Village Realty in Cashiers which is now the Village Realty Group of Keller Williams.
