Tea is our passion. It is more than simply something we enjoy drinking, and more than one we enjoy talking about. Tea is the world's most popular beverage, with many more devoted drinkers and far more depth and variety than coffee. Its value is hard to determine, and its quality difficult to rank; making tea much more comparable in sophistication to wines. The constantly evolving enigma of tea production and tasting keeps our interest piqued and our palates stirred for a lifetime of enjoyment.
Our teahouse is run by several proud Chinese tea lovers based in Beijing, the Wu Yi Mountain region of Fujian province and Montreal, Canada. Our virtual teahouse was created in 2005 under close support of our partnered tea plantations in the Fujian province and our local Beijing teahouse. As a result we hold the certificates of origin in addition to the government-conducted test results for each and every tea sold online. This enables access to the best and freshest teas available each year and especially allows us to rest easy knowing that our teas are safe for consumption.
Golden Teahouse is our way of handling tea on a daily basis as well as providing a means for educating all those interested in seeing what it is all about. We are intent on spreading a wealth of knowledge on tea culture, and especially how it interacts with the thousands of years of Chinese history.
