About Us
Good Wood Looms was founded in 1990 by Irwin and Diane Post of Bethel, Vermont. The looms and accessories Irwin designed were beautifully crafted of native hardwoods, built to be sturdy, portable, and simple to use. Irwin and Diane also provided outstanding service, and many happy customers returned to buy additional looms, some of them collecting the entire product line.
We were fortunate to be able to purchase the Good Wood Weaving Looms and Accessories product line in 2000 when Irwin retired from making looms. Our goal has been to continue the traditions he established of fine craftsmanship, attention to detail, excellent customer service, and concern for our environment. We use only native hardwoods, non-toxic finishes, and biodegradable packaging materials. One of our greatest pleasures is interacting with the wonderful people who make up the weaving community. Our personal bias is that people who are interested in weaving, whether novice or accomplished weaver, shopkeeper or teacher, are just nice people.
