Grants Pass, Oregon is the product of hard work and dedication by a group of settlers living in the Rogue Valley. The town got the name, by an early road worker, who named it while building the road over the Merlin hill into the valley where Grants Pass is located today. The city grew from a small settlement into a booming town by the Pacific Railroad building a terminal in what is now downtown 6th street. With an elevation of less than 1000 feet above sea level, Grants Pass offers a very mild climate. The annual temperature range is from 32 degrees in the winter to a comfortable 89 degrees in the summer. The low evaluation for moderate temperatures make Grants Pass a comfortable place to live and raise a family. The total annual rain fall is of less than thirty inches, so Grants Pass is pleasant and green. Grants Pass has a city population of just over 23,000 inhabitants. Having the look and feel of a small town, but has some of the offerings of city life Grants Pass is a wonderful vacation spot for any traveler.
