A Brief History of the Great Basin Seed Company:

Lloyd Stevens began hand-collecting native seed in 1959. Rangeland restoration and interest in seed collection were just beginning in the US, and he branched into wholesale and retail sales to meet the growing demand of the Federal Government, governing land agencies and the agricultrue industry. He incorporated with his brothers in 1974 as one of the first seed companies in the country.

After graduating from Utah State University in 1997, Jason Stevens joined his father Lloyd and together they formed the Great Basin Seed company. Richard Stevens, retired Wildlife & Plant Biologist for the Utah Division of Wildife Resources, works as a consultant for Great Basin Seed customers.

We work with both public and private sectors to restore and maintain disturbed sites all over the western USA. We work closely with farmers and ranchers to bring new species, crops and growing methods to maximize seed and forage production. Our wildflower mixes beautify homes and landscapes all across the country.
