Green Flag Racing Fantasy Motorsports and Sparky Software began in 1996 when some racing enthusiasts realized that there had to be a better way to run their fantasy league than the spreadsheets they were using. The company offered its first full season version of gfrCup in February 1998. Each year since then, continuous improvements have been made to its fantasy software and the company introduced a Formula One version (gfrF1) in January 2000.
