Welcome to Green Oaks Woodworking, Ltd., makers of high quality, handmade Windsor Chairs crafted in traditional ways. My wife and I are the owners, operators and sole employees of the company. Our mission is to provide quality Windsor Chairs that anyone would be proud to own and equally proud to pass down to succeeding generations.
Most of my earlier woodworking involved building projects for myself, children and friends. Seven years ago I joined a local Woodworkers Guild that is very aggressive in bringing renowned woodworkers to our monthly meetings. One of those people is a highly respected Windsor Chair Maker and instructor from the East coast, Mike Dunbar. After attending a seminar he put on for us on the making of Windsor chairs, I decided to take a class with him at The Windsor Institute in New Hampshire. Well, that one class turned into many more classes and we began making chairs as a hobby and giving them away to our children and friends. People saw those Windsor Chairs and began to ask us to make chairs for them. So, two years ago, my Wife and I founded Green Oaks Woodworking, Ltd. to do just that, sell Windsor Chairs. About the same time, I retired, allowing me to dedicate more time to the crafting of Windsor Chairs. I do the chair making full time now and my Wife does the finishing as needed (she still works).
