Green's Hill
A friend of mine once compared breaking into the publishing world to looking through a one way mirror. A writer can see the party--it's right there--we can see the lights and the people in pretty clothes and elegance and grace and loveliness. And none of it is ours. We can bang our fists against the glass and send out packets to indifferent agents and elusive publishing companies and scream at the top of our lungs, "I'm here! I'm here and I'm good and people will love the people inside my head!" but really, you have a better chance at winning the lottery, and at least you don't have to track down where you buy the tickets, right?
