Walter M. Jackson established Grolier in November 1895 in Boston, Massachusetts. He named the company after a book collector. Since its early days, Grolier has been known as one of the best publishers in the world for family audiences.
Since January 1976, Grolier books have been distributed in Indonesia by PT WIDYADARA, with the head office in Jakarta and agencies in Bandung, Medan, Palembang, Pekanbaru, Semarang, Surabaya, Denpasar and Ujung Pandang.
