Description
Gun Control Policy was created to establish a database of articles and commentary concerning the vast variety of gun control policies and legislation that affect the states in the union and the United States as a whole. Specifically, Gun Control Policy looks to break down the intent, practically and success rate of controversial gun control laws, many of which divide the country down different ideological points of view.
I am currently studying Criminology and Political Science at Florida State University with a specific interest in gun control policy. I have been fortunate enough to learn much of what I know from Dr. Gary Kleck, a leading professor at Florida State and one of the world's leading authorities on gun control. His rigorous course on the effects of popular gun control laws has influenced me to start this site and contribute to the gun control debate.
I do not hide my personal beliefs on this site, but my strong support for Second Amendment rights does not hinder my interest in finding practical solutions to gun crime and violence. If a particular law or gun control measure proves effective I will gladly endorse such legislation. That being said, I believe Gun Control Policy is a credible site that provides -- in addition to strong opinions and personal commentary -- supported facts backed by university research and in-depth studies.
