To the best of my knowledge the first and only GW hoops website was started by a fine fellow named Mario who I believe still hangs out here from time to time. Mario had information and things NO ONE ELSE had on GW basketball. Heck, there really wasn't ANY other place to find information on GW basketball EXCEPT Mario's site.
Sometime in 1996, I learned just enough about building websites to expand on what Mario did, mainly posting recruiting rumors and the occasional game write-up. One day, I added a message board on a whim and the site took-off. After moderate success, an evil company called Rivals lured the ignorant herve away and forced him to play by their rules. Their rules stunk and so did the company. They went belly-up, then reincarnated themselves with MUCH worse rules. Herve bolted back into the wonderful world of hobby-gone-awry-independence and has rested on his painfully weak, bed-head-ridden laurels ever since, realizing he’d simultaneously created and cornered an unbelievably niche market.
This is NOT my job and only costs me money. I can't help myself, but a lot of times life gets in the way and the site itself becomes a distant 23rd, especially when I throw raising the marvelous hervette into the mix. I've stuck my neck-out and have done this long enough and seen enough other sites come and go to know I owe folks at least some decent level of service, so I do my best, but I fully realize it's not always enough. In addition, I NEVER give/sell/transfer, etc. ANY type of information away to anyone ever that I receive via the site or via email.
