About Greg Yancey
Hello, my name is Gregory Yancey, and I am the owner/founder of GYI. I am a veteran of the Vietnam era and retired peace officer, and have been a Salinas, CA resident for the last 37 years. After 11 years of service with the California Department of Corrections, I became active in maintaining the security of the institution, and identifying street gangs and their affiliations. After retiring in 1991 with 15 Letters of Commendation, I obtained my Private Investigators License, and opened my own investigative firm, GYI. We have been quite successfully doing business for the past fifteen years now.
I also enjoy speaking on various topics concerning the investigation field. I have extensive experience and have spoken at many events for both the public and private sectors. If you have need of an expert speaker to address your group or business, I'd be happy to speak on whatever investigative topic that concerns you.
Not only am I committed to my clients and my business, but I also strongly believe in giving back to the community in which I live. Therefore, I donate both my time and a portion of my profits to the community. The organizations that I consider important include several youth sports groups, local hospitals, and women's organizations such as WATCH, which is a non-profit organization that helps women who are victims of domestic violence.
