- We've been around now for 6 years. HAHK Training and Consulting was developed out of necessity. Both, as a Gerontologist, but also as an administrator/licensee in long-term care, I became frustrated with the options for continuing education. I found most of the courses offered to be dreadfully boring, not being taught by a person in the respective field, or worse, not even a qualified trainer with classroom experience and, at times, the content was inaccurate. So, I took my training experience and my knowledge and joined Residential Care Society, under one of the most influential trainers and advocates of our time for the developmentally disabled and workers in health care, Lonnie Nolta. I learned a tremendous amount from Lonnie as did a lot of you. Sadly, Lonnie was recruited by the higher power to run things upstairs, which threw many of us into chaos. It was from her leadership and legacy that HAHK was borne.
