Established in 1987, with a love for woodworking, Handcrafted Furniture has grown from a dream into a reality. Handcrafted Furniture Co., Inc. is a one-family owned and operated woodworking enterprise. It all started back in 1987 with the building of furniture in a small garage. In 1994 we started construction of a new woodworking shop in the Wausau West Industrial Park, which was needed for the extra space required for producing larger furnishings, it was completed in 1995. Before we knew it we had to purchase an adjoining lot and preceded to double the size of our manufacturing plant in 1997. In 2004 we built a new 8,000 sq. ft. warehouse building on an adjoining piece of property. Our main manufacturing plant is currently 11,000 sq. ft.
In 1992 we opened our first retail store, and in 1993 bought the historical, old "Carriage Shop", we then moved the building to its present location at 1616 N. 6th Street on Wausau's east side.
We specialize in custom built pieces, built for you the individual or for your family needs. We believe that "custom built" means you decide the size, shape, style, color and look of your new furniture. We manufacture and market quality solid wood furnishings. We craft our furnishings primarily from red oak, but also work with many other select woods such as: cherry, black walnut, and birch. From dining room table sets to complete bedroom sets we build it all ourselves, providing you with service, quality and convenience all at an affordable price. At our retail location we have three complete floors of furniture for you to view and choose from, or use to get ideas for that custom built piece. We also carry a wide selection of accessories to help complete a look for each and every room in your house.
