About Us

In April 2004, I established the website of hangzhouexpat.com. My goal is to establish an online community for expatriates in Hangzhou. According to the data from the Provincial Government, there have been more than 4,000 foreign residents in Hangzhou by August 2004. Gradually the number will be bigger and bigger. For such a large number of people, a place online for them to meet and communicate is very important. That's the reason the website was established.

Last year, the website was mainly a forum, and a platform for me to promote our Chinese courses at Hangzhou Babel Language Center. I got some technical support from Mr. John Lee, a lot of help from my Friend, Mr. Ken Briggs, and did the rest of the things by myself. The forum did not attract a lot of people, but our Chinese course is getting better and better. At the end of last year, I had a quite exciting discussion with Mr. John Lee and Ms. Lois Her, and we decided to make up a team, to make it a real website (not only a forum) with useful information for your daily life and to really devote ourselves to building the online community for expats in Hangzhou.

We have and we will provide a lot of useful information for you guys, and also, we provide services. I have been working with expats for more than 6 years, and I think, from some aspects, we understand what you guys actually need.
