Description

In 1948, Wayne Harding partnered with Acme Glass Company, later renaming it Harding Glass. After 20 years in the glass industry, Harding's direction for the business began to change. In addition to selling glass, Harding designed a metal covering for old storefronts, making the appearance more pleasing to the eye.

"It was through this particular service that Harding developed a working relationship with Robert Lichti the inventor of the Ferris wheel parking structure. Harding used Kawneer materials to design and create an aesthetically acceptable facade for this parking structure. In 1968, after working with these parking structures, Harding decided to focus his career and business to stackable parking. As CEO he partnered with Hal Goble and Walt Webster (co-patent holders with Lichti of his invention), Bill Daniels and Bob Kelce."

The Initial design was a Ferris-wheel-type parking structure that could place 22 cars in a footprint of only two car spaces. The second invention, the famous DuoPark, still has many units in operation today. Now, with more than 40 different parking systems and models, Harding Steel, Inc. can satisfy any parking need. Harding has dominated this specialized market for more than 35 years by providing the highest quality products, best advice and most reliable service.
