- Hennepin County Medical Center (HCMC) is a comprehensive, academic medical center and public hospital in downtown Minneapolis, affiliated with the University of Minnesota Medical School. HCMC is a nationally recognized Level 1 Trauma Center with the largest emergency department in Minnesota. Specialty services include the Hennepin Heart Center, Bariatric Surgery/Obesity Program, Minnesota Regional Sleep Disorders Center, Nurse-Midwife Service, and Hyperbaric Chamber. HCMC includes a network of community clinics located in south Minneapolis, Brooklyn Center, and Richfield.
