We are a Internal Revenue Service approved 501 (C)(3) non-profit organization established to provide credit counseling and debt management programs to individuals having financial difficulties. CCCSI provides educational programs and seminars for the local community. We assist consumers with all of their debt problems, not just credit card debt. While some credit counseling agencies only handle credit card debt and leave you to struggle with any other bills you might have. CCCSI can assist you with all debts you may be having difficulties with. Our goal is to get you on a sound financial plan, one that you can afford and one that is satisfactory to your creditors. CCCSI and its affiliates have been providing debt management and counseling since 1934. We are one of the oldest credit counseling services in the country. We pride ourselves on the fact that we still offer face to face counseling. Unfortunately the trend in the credit counseling industry has been to adopt the telemarketing philosophy of counseling. Once they have you on the phone, they are under a time limit to get your information and get you off the phone and on to the next one. CCCSI understands there is more to your financial problems than just your bill totals. Your counselor takes the time to get all the facts of your situation so we can set up the best plan for you and your creditors. By reducing your payments, lowering or eliminating finance charges, and stopping late fees and overlimit charges, you can start to make progress in paying off your debts and avoid the possibility of having to file bankruptcy.
After we receive your budget and creditor information, we will try to set your payments plan to fit into the budget that you have to work with. You can include all bills you are dealing with. Credit cards, medical bills, utility bills, installment loans, mortgage payments, collections agencys, personal loans, and any other bills you may be having problems with. After we analyze your information we will determine what bills you need assistance with and will include them in the program. Debts you are not having problems with or you may not want to include in the program will be calculated in your home budget. Most creditors will require you to include all credit card debt in the program. Once your repayment plan is approved, all of those bills will be handled through CCCSI. You will now have only one place to make your payment and CCCSI will disburse your funds on a monthly basis to your creditors. To insure your plan works efficiently you will need to bring your statements to us regularly. We will need to verify that your creditors have lowered your intrest rates and stopped any additional charges. All creditors have different policies regarding lowering intrest rates and other charges. After three consecutive payments most credtors will bring your account to a current status. We are a founding member of the Association of Independent Consumer Credit Counseling Agencies (AICCCA). The AICCCA was founded in 1993 to provide an organization to set standards and integrity for independent counseling agencies. This allows agencies to operate independently yet conform to stardards to provide quality credit counseling. There was a need for agencies to work together with creditors to provide the best possible service for people in need of financial assistance and education. AICCCA is recognized by major creditors and works closely with us to insure you get the benefits credit counseling can provide. We are audited anually and are bonded to insure the safety of your funds.
