- community, nestled among the Amish, our story begins. At the age of 37, thyroid disease devastated my skin. Doctor recommended lotions and soaps were useless to my dried, severely cracked skin. Being an educator, I began researching commercial soaps and body products. If you know anything about chemical, synthetic based products, you know it was an eye opening experience. This led to my investigation of all-natural products. I knew I’d found my solution. Living in a rural area has its pluses but easily obtaining natural body products is not one of them. Visiting bath and body stores was a source of frustration due to the many products containing harmful ingredients. I did select some products to try, but the cost was outrageous. Being a farm girl, used to doing what needed to be done, I ordered some books on all-natural products, made a batch of soap and presto, my skin was healed. Sharing my discovery with others, I was soon making, developing and selling soap among the surrounding community.
