Description

Dyeing and weaving have been my passion since 1987. Heritage Handwovens was established in 1994 and in 1998, "and Dye Service" was added to the name as I began offering my hand dyed yarns used in my own weaving and knitting.. After having dyed and woven for pleasure for seven years, I was accepted into the Craftsmen's Guild of Mississippi as a weaver in 1994 and continued to dye for my own knitting and weaving and began showing and selling handwovens through guild events and galleries. I began retailing and wholesaling yarns in early 1998 and followed shortly afterwards by dyeing commercial silk scarves. Most recently I have shortened the name of my business to Heritage Yarns. I was honored in 2004 to have been accepted into the Craftsmen's Guild of Mississippi in two additional categories, Surface Design and Dyeing.

I have been a member of Handweavers Guild of America and my local guild, Chimneyville Weavers and Spinners Guild, Jackson, MS, since 1987 and was listed in the Directory of Traditional American Crafts of "Early American Homes" for four years. Among my most recent honors was weaving an ornament for the 1999 White House Blue Room Christmas tree in concert with the "Save America's Treasures" program; the ornament will remain a part of the permanent collection of the White House.

The studio of Heritage Yarns is located in Jackson, Mississippi, the "Crossroads of the South", and is family owned and operated. I guarantee products for quality and workmanship; your satisfaction is my desire.
