- Holographic photography is the creation and display of holographic images through the intersection of two beams of coherent light (light in which all the waves are synchronized) within a three-dimensional photosensitive media. One of the beams (the signal beam) contains visual information about the object. Holotech methods are being applied to three-dimensional (3-D) rendering of medical images including CT and MR images. Medical holotechnology imaging can allow doctors to try the insertion of medical instruments into an artificially constructed, 3D version of the surgical field before the operation. An array of micro- mirrors, whose movements are controlled by computer, can fragmentize and redirect an array of laser rays to form moving, 3D holographic images of internal anatomic features. recording and retrieving holograms also deals with these concepts.
