Description
Sleep comes easily in beds fit for a queen or king. Guests can also request the use of buckwheat pillows made by a local entrepreneur. That same entrepreneur’s castile soaps are found in the bathroom. Those wanting a romantic getaway will enjoy the Fireplace Suite with its plump wing back chairs and glowing fireplace. The room has a lovely view of the property, its gardens and the wetlands beyond. Another suite, in the stone house portion of the home, has room for a family with a large bed and fold-out couch.
After enjoying a wonderful night’s sleep, breakfast is a dream come true. Sitting in the high-ceilinged dining room where gentle music drifts down and the morning light glows, a wonderful feast awaits. The morning I stayed, the meal began with a fresh fruit plate of cherries, watermelon, kiwi and plums. As I sipped my apple juice, Norma brought in a beautiful plate heaped with homemade waffles which I promptly smothered in locally made maple syrup and dipped in peach yogurt. A silver platter of crisp bacon appeared alongside a plate of muffins. It was all delicious. I had my choice of enjoying my morning tea on the sheltered porch overlooking the gardens or in the dining room.
