- first started to be around horses in 1956, as I was working part time helping out on a horse sale barn. I fell in love with one of the horses and just had to own him. He was a white saddle horse 3years old. When i started to ride him i found out that he was very spooky, even when the leaves blew he would jump sideways. After falling off a few times, I decided to sell or trade him for a quarter horse, as they seemed a lot more stable. I got a green broke two year old quarter horse, he was a line back dun. after riding him for some time my 10 year old daughter started to showing him in horse shows, she won many ribbons that year. the next horse I owned was a two year old App. stud. he was easy to ride, but would not cross water. I had just started to rodeo riding bucking horses, but I never got the App. to like water. A few years I started helping out on a cattle ranch that also owned a string of rental horses. I had to help vet. them and do what ever needed to be done. we rented the horses at field trials etc. So we were saddling and looking after the horses . At this time my daughter starting acquiring a string of horses, she was also breeding and training them. She had four children and taught them to ride and show horses. We now have seventeen horses between us. We are breeding teaching riding and caring for the horses. we do most of the vet. work ourselves. I now have a four old great granddaughter that has been riding since she was two. She is even riding green broke horses for us.
